summer festivities

With June already under our belts, avoid a mid-summer slump by providing your residents with plenty of opportunities for fun during the next two months:

National Ice Cream Day

July 17th is National Ice Cream Day and there are all sorts of ways to celebrate everyone’s favorite summer treat! Hire an ice cream truck to visit your property for a few hours; hire a local shop to cater an ice cream social; or stock your own coolers full of tasty treats in your common room. If you’re not up for hosting an event, many shops will give out free dips or cones to celebrate, so research what’s going on in your neighborhood and pass the info along to your residents.

Be the Host!

Utilizing your pool or other outdoor spaces is one of the easiest ways to get your residents together for food, drinks, or just plain fun. Use the summer months to host fun, themed activities that will get your community excited, some ideas include:

Hawaiian Luau

Invite your residents to the pool for cocktails, relaxation, and plenty of conversation! You don’t have to spend a ton of money out of pocket, but with just a few decorations, such as flower leis or drink umbrellas, you can create the perfect tropical escape for your tenants.

Pooches at the Pool

Invite your furry friends to take a dip by blocking off a time at your community pool just for them. This is a fun event for the whole family. Who wouldn’t want to watch a pool full of puppies swimming together? Invite a local pet store to sponsor by providing discount coupons or even coming to hand out treats!

Dive-In Movie

Whether you have a pool or another outdoor space, a movie night is an easy and fun activity for the whole family. Rent or borrow a projector and stream a family-friendly movie right onto the wall of your clubhouse. Wait for the sun to go down, the stars to come out, and let your residents sit back, relax and enjoy. Pick up some movie-typical snacks like popcorn and candy for your tenants to savor, and you can be sure everyone will have a memorable time.

Keep your Residents in-the-know

Send out frequent newsletters to your residents. Providing a calendar of events is a nice way to notify them about activities happening around the community as well as dates to keep in mind. You can also attach coupons to the best summer eateries or deals to local attractions like water parks, amusement parks, or anything else popular in your area.

Invest some time and energy into your residents this summer and you are sure to see a meaningful return. Let this summer be the best yet with these great summertime event ideas for your properties.
