RMUC.16: Big Excitement and Big Experiences in Orlando

The 2016 Rent Manager User Conference was held October 3rd – 6th at the Omni Orlando Resort at ChampionsGate, and despite some intimidating weather delivered by Hurricane Matthew, the event ran uninterrupted and brought exciting news and opportunities to the Rent Manager community.

More than 550 property management professionals—from residential, commercial, manufactured housing, student housing backgrounds—gathered in Orlando, Florida for the biggest RMUC to date. The festivities officially kicked off with Pre-Conference on Monday and continued through Thursday afternoon, with more than 70 sessions, 14 expert speakers, and 12 industry sponsors.

During Tuesday morning’s Conference Keynote, President and CEO, David Hegemann discussed Rent Manager’s continued expansion and several major feature announcements and enhancements to the Rent Manager 12 platform. Dave also discussed the company’s recent move to its new Cincinnati headquarters. The 75,000-square-foot building houses all of LCS’ employees under one roof, with plenty of room to grow.

The last big Keynote reveal was the eagerly anticipated details of RMUC.17, which will take place October 23rd–26th in Tucson, Arizona at the JW Marriott Tucson Starr Pass Resort and Spa!

From there, attendees got down to the business of learning and leading by building a personalized session schedule from the 76 unique courses offered during the conference. From mastering ePay, to acquiring new tenant retention strategies, to protecting their businesses from fraud, conference-goers made the most of every educational opportunity presented at RMUC.16.

We wrapped up the first full day of conference in true Florida style by taking the party off-site to Margaritaville at Universal Orlando’s CityWalk. Upon arrival, everyone was treated to an evening full of music, fantastic food (Cheeseburger in Paradise, anyone?), and refreshments… including plenty of the establishment’s namesake beverage. It was a gorgeous night that set the perfect tone for the rest of the RMUC.

Classes were back in session Wednesday and Thursday, and despite Hurricane Matthew’s best efforts, the conference carried on—we even made it outside for a couple sun-soaked meals! We wrapped things up Thursday afternoon with a now-classic game of Rent Manager Feud. The size of the audience may have been diminished by the weather, but you’d never know it given the energy and excitement in the room. We couldn’t help but enjoy ourselves as the sometimes-outrageous answers to each survey question—provided by Rent Manager customers—were revealed.

With our ninth conference now on the books, we’d like to thank all our attendees and sponsors again for your passion and perseverance at RMUC.16. It was an event we’ll never forget, and each of you made it possible. If you’d like to revisit the RMUC.16 experience, check out our online photo album on the Rent Manager blog.

We look forward to seeing all of you in Arizona next year!
