consolidation, and ease of use is earning Rent
Manager™XP a role in Continental
Communities’ growth plans
Rent Manager™XP
helped Continental Communities tackle serious growing
pains as the company tried to manage multiple
manufactured home communities throughout the U.S. on
four separate databases.
With 43 communities, thousands of
properties and nearly 80 managers…all working on
different systems, Continental was scurrying to keep up
with its own rapid growth. The company, based in
Oakbrook, Illinois, had trouble helping its managers
sell properties, track lease agreements and collect
delinquent rents because staff had to search four
different databases to find the correct files.
Kurt McCollum, Continental’s Technical
Operations Manager, began scouring the market for a
solution. After implementing a competing property
management software application and receiving
unsatisfactory results for an entire year, Kurt switched
to Rent Manager’s online version in September
2003. Continental has since realized a substantial
return in both time and cost savings.
“It’s definitely what we were looking for
in enabling us to operate all of our properties on the
same database,” Kurt says. “Running reports, for
instance…. We have several reports we run on a daily
basis. Running those reports with Rent Manager™XP,
our time has been cut in half. From a management
standpoint, our system makes it very easy to receive
checks and enter residents into the database. The whole
process is more efficient.”
Since implementing Rent Manager™XP,
Kurt now recommends the application to other property
management companies, citing the following attributes as
the key reasons for Continental’s happiness and success
with Rent Manager™XP.
“Our managers are all over the country,
and entering payments as they are received. Now, we’re
able to look at all of that online in real time. One of
the main advantages it gives us is that at any time any
day we’re able to go in and see what’s delinquent, and
we’re able to help the managers find ways to collect
that delinquent rent,” Kurt says.
Continental is currently working with
Rent Manager’s staff to customize some aspects of
the application to better meet Continental’s unique
needs regarding its Reservations and General Ledger
processes. Rent Manager’s reliability and
eagerness to adapt its product to a client’s business
needs is another reason why Continental is incorporating
the application into its growth strategy. |
